Day 24. Fort Bragg City and more glass

Before we enjoyed our second campfire tonight, complete with an awesome number of stars overhead in the clear sky, we had things to do.  First, shoes.  During yesterday’s quest for sea glass, shoes got very wet and didn’t dry by morning.  Our first stop to find water shoes was unsuccessful, but a local outdoor gear store had a nice selection of supportive flip flops.  Second, oil change.  I dropped Charlie and Scotch at the beach and took the truck to the shop.  While I waited I had a nice conversation with the owner/manager about politics, crabs (blue crabs vs Dungeness), raising daughters, patriotism… Most fun I’ve ever had at an auto repair shop!  Third, car wash.  Our Explorer was sooo dirty since we passed through the smoke and ashes of Idaho and the innumerable road construction zones along the way.

Before we returned to camp where Charlie sorted his loot, we enjoyed delicious hamburgers at Jenny’s Giant Burgers.  Yum!

Fun entertainment in Glass Beach parking lot.
