New Jersey

What kind of a name for a state park is Cheesequake??  We're here because it's only about an hour or so from the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. (I am so excited for tomorrow!)  This campground is unlikely to make our Top Ten List.  Our campsite is within a stone's throw of the Garden State Parkway so I don't expect to wake up to the sound of chirping birds.  But the staff are friendly and the campsites large, so that's good.

Last night in Delaware it rained like crazy -- very happy for the camper instead of a tent!  I did have a surprise this a.m. -- not one, but two, deer ticks had decided to make a snack of me.  Noooo!  Note to self:  First, wear a hat in the woods and, second, call the doc on Monday about antibiotics to prevent Lyme disease.

Charlie made an excellent meal this evening -- salmon on the grill and salad with cucumbers, tomato, feta cheese, and romaine lettuce. It was the first time we used the new 'tailgate grill' and it worked like a charm.

  3. Way to go Charlie! There's some fine dining going on on this adventure. Looking forward to tomorrows photos. Post a bunch so I've got a reason to not paint. Don't forget to call the doc.
