Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor (pronounced, bah hah bah)

We got a late start today and then inadvertently drove a very round-about approach to Blackwoods Campground in Acadia National Park, but we arrived in Bar Harbor, Maine, by mid-afternoon.  Route 1 from Camden to Bar Harbor hugs the coast and each town along the way has at least one ice cream parlor and one lobster shack.

Acadia National Park is big and our campground area is nice, although again we have no electricity or water at our site (and no cell signal!).  In fact there are no showers at all in the park, so an enterprising business owner runs a 24-hour pay-to-shower facility about a block from the campground's entrance.  I know all the camping non-enthusiasts out there are cringing about now!  Anyway, hope we have plenty of quarters for tomorrow morning.

Apparently it is possible to get tired of New England clam chowder and fried fish sandwiches.  Charlie said "uncle" after today's dinner -- tomorrow we eat beef.  Also on tomorrow's menu is fresh, homemade, warm, blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream -- a Maine tradition.
