Good bye, Maine

Those Maine folk are a hearty bunch!  The temp was about 65 with a steady breeze, and they're down playing at Seal Harbor beach.  brrrr  Charlie took advantage of the low tide and found some sea glass.

While he was searching for 'treasure', I overheard a group of young girls and boys playing on the shore.
"Oh My God!"
"What is it?"
"We've got to get it to the aquarium!"
"Put your hand over it!"
"Quick! Take it to the aquarium!"
So a little boy, probably about 5, starts running with his hand cupped over the sea creature they'd discovered.  Suddenly, he stops.
"Where's the aquarium?"
Cracked me up!

We made our way up Cadillac Mountain.  The combination of the height and the less-than-confidence-inspiring guard rails made Charlie just a little bit uneasy.  But it was worth the drive.  What a view!

We made our way back to Bar Harbor and did some shopping and then stopped for some lobster bisque and blueberry pie.  So long, Maine!  It's been fun.

  1. Quite a vista from that mountaintop. Yes, the beach days in Maine are indeed different than we usually enjoy! They obviously appreciated the sunshine! Bye to the ocean views; westward ho!
    Hugs!
