Day 28. Into the desert
We're not out of California yet, but we're moving eastward. We've decided that our next destination will be Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. We figure we're this close, so why not visit Hoover Dam too? So tonight we're sleeping in a KOA near Barstrow, California. First thing upon our arrival, we took a nice long nap. Then we did laundry and I gave Scotch a clipping and a bath (in the ADA shower with its handheld shower). Nice looking (and smelling) doggy again! Now if only we could get rid of the teeny tiny ants that have invaded our camper since yesterday!! First stop tomorrow is to buy ant spray.
On our way here, we traveled through high desert. The landscape is so different from what we've seen to this point on our trip, but in its own way it is also beautiful. We're seeing cacti for the first time in our trip. And we'll be seeing more of the same on our way to Hoover Dam and then to the Grand Canyon.
But we did stop along the way at In N Out Burgers. I've heard of this restaurant chain, so it was a fun place to stop for lunch. Highly recommended.
