We stayed at a KOA in Waldport that was really nice. The location was great as you can see by the view from our camper. Charlie and Scotch walked down to the shoreline. Very pretty. But the campground is located adjacent to a bridge that, while boasting neat art deco architectural design, was noisy. So Charlie didn't sleep as soundly as the night before, but it wasn't bad.
I hear that it's been pretty hot back in Maryland. Not so here; night temperatures have been in the low 40s. Yes, we've been using the camper heater. Nice.
But it's the views of the Oregon coastline that are just stunning. So very different than the east coast with its generally flat farm land leading to the coast. Here there are mountains and cliffs. Consequently, there is little building along the shore. Very different from the east coast. Reading about the earthquake in the early 1700s and the resultant tsunami, it becomes clear the dynamic forces that formed the shore. Still, stunning.
