Leaving Mystic, we headed to Charlestown, Rhode Island, and Burlingame State Park. Awesome park with a huge number of campsites, located right on the water. Though there's no electricity or water at our campsite, there are nice clean modern bathrooms -- though they charge for showers ...rude. I highly recommend this campground, especially if you can get a campsite overlooking the water like we did. We drove around to explore the surrounding towns; I just love the New England architecture. We're seeing more and more of it as we travel up the coast. Charlie and I were both struck by the very well-tended flowers beds and yards. Picture perfect.

Chilly here too. Strange summer so far, following the strangest winter ever.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the husband will be headed to Sturgis in August so between that and the weekend of widower sitting, I may not get a fun weekend with my spouse in August. :( You and Charlie are blessed to be able to take this opportunity to go on this trip and enjoy your freedom! Footloose and fancy free! Woohoo! Hugs!!
