Day 46-47. Emerald Isle, NC

We have vacationed in Emerald Isle for years, so we thought it would be the perfect last stop before heading home.  There's a RV campground located by the ocean that offers all kinds of summer attractions for its guests, like putt putt golf, race cars, swimming pool, bikes, and so on.  It seemed like a good place to stay, right?  No!  A violent weather pattern was moving up the east coast and was headed for the North Carolina coast.  So much for the final few days of our long trip being spent relaxing on the beautiful Emerald Isle beach and swimming in the warm ocean water of the Southern Outer Banks. No! We had the (dis)pleasure of spending $85 to hook up on a wet and windy spot that, we were informed, was going to be evacuated the following day!  So much for the relaxing final day!
